Description
A production background from the Walt Disney Studios animated film "The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea" (2000). Featuring a dynamic shot of King Triton's throne, the hand-painted background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film, which used hand-painted backgrounds, but all of the moving character imagery was colored on computers. The backgrounds and drawings from the film are the only pieces of production art that exist. Measuring 12.75"x20" overall, with the image measuring 11"x18", the background is in very good condition with minimal overall edge and corner wear, some very light marks along the middle of the left edge, and a small white-ish mark at the bottom left corner. The piece was originally prepared for sale by the studio's art program and comes with the studio COA.
