An original production background from the Disney Studios animated masterpiece "Sleeping Beauty" (1959). Featuring a gorgeous rendering of the fairies' cottage, the hand-painted background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. Disney Legend Eyvind Earle worked as both a concept artist and color stylist on "Sleeping Beauty," and his unique sense of design and style contributed to what is considered by many to be the high point of Disney animation. Measuring 19.5"x28" framed, with a 10.75"x19.75" mat opening, the background is in very good condition, unexamined out of the frame, with a minor graphite smudge and light scratch to the top left corner, and light handling wear to the frame.
