Description
An original production cel from the Disney Studios animated Mickey Mouse short "Brave Little Tailor" (1938). Featuring Minnie Mouse looking adorable in her Princess attire, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon. The Disney Studio art department originally prepared the cel for sale at the Courvoisier Galleries. The piece exhibits traditional characteristics of a Courvoisier setup including the cel being trimmed to the image and applied to a custom-painted airbrush background. Measuring 14.5"x14.5" framed, with a 7"x7" mat opening, and a character image of 4"x2.75", the piece is in good condition with slight age-related discoloration, wear to the paint, paint cracking and lifting throughout Minnie's image, and rippling consistent with aging.
