Rediscovering Disneyland

Van Eaton Galleries is proud to present our latest Disney Parks exhibition and auction, "Rediscovering Disneyland." This astounding collection brings together nearly 1200 artifacts from the history of Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and the other Disney Parks around the globe. Highlights of this collection include a loan agreement signed by Walt Disney and his wife Lillian Disney in 1954 relating to $60,000 Walt borrowed against his own life insurance policy in order to build Disneyland, an Mark VII Autopia Vehicle Body, vintage cast member wardrobe from Club 33, a hand-crafted mosaic display that was once part of Sleeping Beauty Castle, hand-written and signed sheet music for It's a Small World by the Sherman Brothers, Disneyland parking lot signs, as well as a plethora of park signage, props, costumes, furniture, and much more that celebrates the incredible history of Disneyland and its creator, Walt Disney.

Van Eaton Galleries is proud to present A Celebration of Popular Culture, our latest exhibition and auction! This collection brings together nearly 700 items of popular culture history, representing some of the most nostalgic, scarcely seen, and most-prized artifacts of the last 60 years. Highlights of this auction include rare toys from “The Toy Scout,” Joel Magee, including rare collectibles from Batman, Lost in Space, The Munsters, Bewitched, and much more! Other highlights come from the estate of famed artist and custom car designer Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, which include Ed Roth’s personal Hot Wheels based on his “Beatnik Bandit” hot rod, as well as vintage model kits and slot cars based on his designs. Additionally, this collection includes rare original film posters from such classics as Creature from the Black Lagoon and Forbidden Planet, as well as collectibles from animated films and shows, Star Wars, James Bond, Walt Disney, Marvel, and props and collectibles from the Disney Parks.

This auction is our largest ever, containing over 1500 items from the history of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Highlights from this collection include a WED Imagineering file copy of the 1953 Disneyland Prospectus, an original animatronic Small World Doll, a PeopleMover ride vehicle, the original Penny Arcade sign, and singing animatronic tiki birds from the Enchanted Tiki Room, as well as additional props, documentation, manuals, cast member attire, and countless other artifacts from the history of the Disney Parks. That's From Disneyland

Van Eaton Galleries is ecstatic to present "That's from Disneyland"...an incredible two day auction featuring the collection of Richard Kraft, mega collector and Disneyland enthusiast. Featuring original pre-1955 concept art, ride vehicles, props, attraction posters, paper goods, toys and more. This auction represents one of the largest collections of its kind in the world. Housed at an abandoned sporting goods store in Sherman Oaks, this is a free pop-up Exhibition from August 1st through the 24th, with our live auction scheduled for the 25th and 26th of August! Special events and concerts celebrating Disneyland and Richard Kraft's collection are schedule throughout August 2018!

A Brief History of the Walt Disney Studios

Van Eaton Galleries presented our eighth auction, “A Brief History of the Walt Disney Studios”, on July 7, 2018. This one-of-a-kind auction examined the events and individuals that helped build the Walt Disney Studios and theme parks into what we know them as today. This auction contained remarkable artifacts from Walt’s early life, such as a stock certificate for Walt’s animation company “Laugh-O-Gram” Studios, as well as Walt Disney’s personal business card from his time working on the Oswald cartoons. This auction also contained such items as animators’ desks and furniture from the Walt Disney Studios, rare animation artwork from the 1920s up through the Disney Renaissance, original Disneyland props and artifacts, as well as the original brownline that Walt Disney first drew the boundary of Disneyland on. This remarkable auction contained nearly 600 items, and represented almost 100 years of creativity and imagination from the mind of Walt Disney and the employees of the Walt Disney Studios.

The Life and Career of Disney Legend Rolly Crump

Van Eaton Galleries presented our seventh auction, “The Life and Career of Disney Legend Rolly Crump”, on April 28, 2018. This exhibition and auction contained over 400 artifacts, props, and original artwork which highlighted some of Rolly's iconic achievements. Rolly worked on such attractions as the Enchanted Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion, and It's a Small World, and some of his personal artifacts are seen here for the first time since they were initially created. This collection represents a lifetime of creativity and imagination from the mind of Rolly Crump.

Remembering Disneyland

Van Eaton Galleries presented “Remembering Disneyland”, an exhibition and auction of nearly 800 props, souvenirs, and artifacts from the park’s 60-year history, on December 16, 2017. “Remembering Disneyland” tells the story of Disneyland through the memories and experiences of former Cast Members, performers, and individuals who have had a role in the legacy of the park. Highlights of this auction include a 1954 Disneyland Prospectus, a 1957 “Haunted Mansion” script, original props from California Adventure’s “Tower of Terror”, a complete set of furniture from a Grand Californian Hotel room, Guy Williams' original Zorro costume from park performances, an animatronic Fuzzball from the Captain EO attraction, some of the most rare Attraction Posters from the parks, and much more. With items including original wardrobe, concept art, props, vintage souvenirs, and more, “Remembering Disneyland” is sure to have something for every Disney fan.

Walt Disney's Disneyland

The auction for Van Eaton Galleries' “Walt Disney’s Disneyland” collection was held on June 25, 2017. The exhibition and auction featured a historic assortment of nearly 1,000 Disneyland artifacts from 1953 to the present day. Some of these artifacts included original props, wardrobe, ride vehicles, and souvenirs. The highlight of this auction was Walt Disney’s first-ever presentation map of Disneyland. This original map, created in 1953, was used by Walt and Roy Disney to secure the financing they needed in order to build the park.

Souvenirs of Disneyland

Van Eaton Galleries held “Souvenirs of Disneyland”, an exciting Exhibition and Auction containing some of the most unique Disneyland artifacts and souvenirs to ever be brought to auction, in November of 2016. The collection brought together souvenirs, props, costumes, artwork, and other amazing collectibles from virtually every land and attraction at Disneyland over the last 60 years. The "Souvenirs of Disneyland" auction included items directly from the estate of Annette Funicello that are being auctioned to benefit The Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases.
